Steens UMF 20+ Raw Mānuka Honey is quite different from most premium Mānuka honeys.

Rather than using fine filtration and conventional heat processing, Steens uses its proprietary Crushed Wholecomb Technology™. The whole honeycomb is crushed and the wax removed, helping retain naturally occurring bee bread, bee pollen, enzymes and honey crystals from within the comb.

Steens reports that its wholecomb extraction process delivers up to 15 times more bee pollen than leading Mānuka honey brands, contributing to the honey's distinctive texture, aroma and flavour.

The honey is raw and unpasteurised and is not heated above naturally occurring hive temperatures during extraction or packing.

UMF 20+ / MGO 830+ places this firmly among the higher-strength certified Mānuka honeys. Each batch is independently tested for authenticity, quality and potency under the UMF certification system.

The flavour is deep and earthy with a gentle sweetness, while Steens' naturally occurring honey crystals give it a distinctive melt-in-the-mouth texture.

The Steens difference

Crushed Wholecomb Technology™
Steens crushes the complete honeycomb and removes only the wax rather than using fine filtration.

Raw & unpasteurised
The honey isn't creamed, pasteurised or exposed to temperatures above those naturally occurring in the hive.

Up to 15× more bee pollen
Steens' extraction method has been shown to retain substantially more naturally occurring bee pollen than conventional extraction methods.

From beekeeper to jar
Steens is vertically integrated, with its own hives, beekeepers and extraction facility, allowing greater control over provenance and quality.

Traceable to the hive
Customers can use the batch information to trace their honey back to its hive location.
