Melora Honey operate their factories from Opotiki and Whakatane and place their beehives in the remote areas of New Zealand’s east coast.
Bee health is optimised through hives having their own identification tag which can be accessed electronically. Information is gathered daily, and databases updated to ensure an authentic product. Factories in Opotiki and Whakatane process the raw unpasturised honey. It is only lightly filtered to ensure that all the goodness is retained.
Through Melora’s Ethical Honey Harvesting programme, the Manuka Honey is ethically and sustainably sourced. Melora’s Far Share Programme ensures that a percentage of the income from Manuka Honey and product sales benefits the Maori landowner partners.
Melora is a member and licensee of the Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association. This guarantees that through independent testing and adhering to strict conditions, their Manuka Honey is genuine and of high quality.
